The purpose of this quick reference guide is to step through the process of creating and exporting SuperStream Reports. The intended audience for this document is Standard Users.
Create a new SuperStream Lodgement for Payment Entities using SuperChoice Contributions API
To create a new SuperStream Report, the following steps should be completed:
Go to the Lodgements AU object (see Figure 1).
Click the New button.
Figure 1
Choose the SuperStream Record Type and click Next. (See Figure 2).
Figure 2
Click the button on the left-hand side of the screen where it says Superannuation Lodgement Manager (see Figure 3).
Figure 3
Within this filter screen, Users can create reports specific to Employer, Employee, or All Contributions. Unless you need to split out the report to be specific to Employer or Employee, most Users will keep this at the default of All (see Figure 4).
Populate the Filter Panel with the following fields:
Payment Entity – required (up to 5 can be selected)
Schedule – optional (up to 5 can be selected)
Pay Batches – optional (up to 5 can be selected)AND
Payment Date From - required
Payment Date To - required
Pay Batch Search: The Pay Batch Search button only becomes available once Payment Entity and both Payment Date From and Payment Date To fields are populated.
Figure 4
Click on the Pay Batch Search button (see Figure 5).
A new panel called ‘Select Pay Batches’ will appear with a list of Pay Batches without SuperStream Lodgements already created.
To create the SuperStream Lodgement, select the required Pay Batch(s) by ticking the checkbox(s) and click Create Superannuation Lodgement.
Figure 5
Reset all filters: To change your filters or start again, click Reset All Filters at the top of the Select Filters window. This clears all filters.
A new Lodgement AU Batch has been created. Click on the Lodgement Number listed, i.e. LAU-000000xxxx (see Figure 6).
Figure 6
A new SuperStream Batch has been created with the status of SUPERSTREAM DATA CREATED as shown in the top right of the Lodgements Manager UI (see Figure 7).
Figure 7
Before moving to the next step, refer to the QRG SuperStream Reporting – Key Information to learn what the individual buttons and sections in this Lodgements Batch are called.
Click the down arrow on the right-hand side of the record row (see Figure 8).
Click View/Edit Details.
Figure 8
You will see Employee details in a pop-up screen. To update details directly within the Lodgement, click Edit on the Contributions tab to add missing or change existing contribution details, or on the Payee or Employee tabs to add/update personal details, and click Save (see Figure 9).
If any details are updated on the Payee or Employee tabs, they are not replicated to the Payee or Employee records automatically, so to apply them to the Contact record, right-click the Employee name and open it in a new tab (see Figure 9).
Figure 9
On the Employee record, update the address details and check the Birthdate, Gender, Phone, and Mobile, adding or replicating anything missing, incorrect, or updated in the previous step, then save the record (see Figure 10).
A Payee-Level Lodgement Item, where the item is never grouped under a Fund Payment, so it is never submitted to SuperChoice. It is excluded from Total Contributions and summed instead into Total Unallocated on the Lodgement AU.
Return to the SuperStream UI tab, click Unallocated Contributions, which lists contributions that are not linked to a Super fund and not yet submitted (see Figure 11).
Figure 11
To view details of an individual record:
Click the down arrow on the right-hand side of the record row (see Figure 12).
Click View/Edit Details.
Figure 12
The Unallocated Contribution details open in a pop-up screen. This time, you will notice that the Superannuation Fund, Super Member Number, Super Employer Id, and other fields are empty (see Figure 13).
To update details directly within the Lodgement, click Edit on the Contributions tab.
Figure 13
Add the missing contribution details by populating Superannuation Fund, Super Member Number, Super Employer Id, and other required fields. On the Payee or Employee tabs, if required, add/update personal details (see Figure 14).
Once done, click Save.
As mentioned previously, if any details are updated on the Payee or Employee tabs, they are not replicated to the Payee or Employee records automatically, so make sure to apply them to the Contact record using the instructions provided above.
When a SuperStream Lodgement is created, each Contribution type starts empty and is then assessed. Where a Contribution calculates to a negative amount, the contribution is held back rather than reported, because a superannuation fund cannot accept a negative contribution. It appears under the Negative Contributions tab on the SuperStream UI. The contribution amount itself is cleared, and the negative value is preserved in the matching Negative field for that contribution type, so the adjustment remains visible and auditable against the Payee.Unallocated items are resolved in the View/Edit Details panel by assigning a fund. Negative contributions are not. Only two resolution paths exist:
Correct the contribution at source, then recreate the lodgement.
Accept it and reconcile outside the lodgement.
Do not hand-edit an extracted provider file to turn a negative into a positive.
Member Exits is one of the contribution tabs on the SuperStream Lodgement UI. It holds Lodgement Items where Cessation Date is not null — i.e. Payees in the Lodgement who have already been terminated. It lets you advise the fund of a termination date and reason, and for a Super Lodgement you can create a new member exit even if the Payee hasn’t received their final payment yet.
A Lodgement sends contributions for many Payees, but those Payees belong to different Superannuation Funds. SuperChoice does not make one payment. It makes a separate payment to each Superannuation Fund.A Fund Payment is the record of one of those payments. There is one Fund Payment for each Superannuation Fund (not for each Payee) in the Lodgement, and it holds the combined total of every Payee contribution going to that fund. To review Fund Payments:
Open the Lodgement record (see Figure 15).
Select the Fund Payments tab. Each row is one fund, showing its name, payment status, the amount for each contribution type, and the fund total.
Figure 15
Each Fund Payment carries its own status, shown against the fund row on the Fund Payments tab. The descriptions of all Fund Payment statuses are given in the QRG SuperStream Reporting – Key Information. Each fund carries its own status, so one can succeed while another fails.
The Lodgement Errors tab lists the Lodgement Error AU records raised against this Lodgement, so every problem sits in one place rather than being hunted per Payee.Errors come from two sources: validation failures when Validate runs, and refunds or failed fund payments returned by Get Response, which refreshes the tab. Each row carries the SuperChoice severity code and error description, linked to the Payee contribution it relates to, so the underlying data can be corrected.
A Lodgement Item AU sits under one Super fund. If the wrong fund is on it, you no longer need to delete and rebuild the lodgement. You need to just pick the right fund on the item and the system moves (“reparents”) that employee across to it, rebuilding both funds’ totals as it goes.
Open the Lodgement AU record and find the Payee’s Lodgement Item.
Click the down arrow on the right of the item, then click View/Edit Details.
In the Super Fund picker, select the correct fund.
Click Save.
Review the confirmation, then click Confirm.
Click Validate again.
Please note:
The Super Fund picker is unconstrained, so any active fund can be selected, not only funds already on this lodgement.
Nothing is written until you click Confirm, so the modal is the last point at which you can cancel safely.
Saving resets the statuses, so the lodgement will not progress until you re-run Validate.
Recalculation only touches the edited Payee’s fund, never every fund on the lodgement. This is designed to save time: one lodgement can hold up to 9,000 items, so a full recalculation would be far too slow.
Submit and Get Response of the SuperStream Lodgement for Payment Entities using SuperChoice Contributions API
While still in the Validated tab, click Submit (see Figure 18).
Figure 18
A confirmation pop-up appears. Click Confirm (see Figure 19).
Figure 19
A message appears confirming the submission process has started (see Figure 20).
Figure 20
When the contributions are submitted successfully, the Status changes to Contributions Submitted, and both the Validate and Submit buttons are disabled (see Figure 21).
Click Get Response.
Figure 21
A message appears saying “Response retrieved” (see Figure 22).
Figure 22
Once completed, the status will change to SuperStream Completed (see Figure 23).
The Refund Payments tab lists the refunds SuperChoice has sent back against a Lodgement. It is empty until Get Response runs. Get Response calls the SuperChoice Detailed Response API, and that call is what populates the tab and refreshes the Lodgement Errors tab at the same time. Before submission, there is nothing to show.Refunds arrive at three levels, and each creates a Lodgement Item AU record on the refund Record Type:
Employer level: The entire payment for the Lodgement was refunded. The Lodgement moves to SuperStream Full Refund.
Member level: One or more Payees’ contributions were returned. The original Member Contribution is located on the Payee’s identity details and cloned as a refund record. The Lodgement moves to SuperStream Partial Refund.
Contribution type level: Only one contribution type was rejected, which is rare. Treated as a member-level refund, except that all amount buckets are zeroed and only the rejected contribution type is populated.
Open the Lodgement AU record and select the Refunds/Failures (Super) tab (see Figure 24).
On the Display Issues screen, tick the items required from Select Refunds to Action and Errored Payments to Action. Items already dealt with are excluded, so the totals shown are the outstanding amounts.
Figure 24
Select one of three options for each item:
Resubmit in 2cloudnine – correct the details and include the contribution in a new Lodgement.
Resolve outside 2cloudnine – record that the item is being dealt with elsewhere. Nothing is created.
Skip for now – leave the item untouched. It reappears next run.
For Resubmit in 2cloudnine, complete the fund, membership, self-managed fund, and personal details sections shown for that item.
Complete the process. A new Lodgement is created containing the corrected contributions, with a fund payment for each fund involved.
What happens next:
Review the new Lodgement, then run Validate and Submit.
Each item actioned is linked to its replacement, and the Resolution field shows:
Remediated in 2cloudnine – a replacement contribution exists.
The external method chosen – records the stated intention only. It does not confirm the issue is resolved.
Outstanding – no action taken.
Deleting a replacement contribution, or clearing either field, returns the item to Outstanding and to the worklist. Nothing is hidden permanently. A remediated contribution can itself be refunded. Each item records the contribution it replaces and the Lodgement the original failure occurred on, so the history can be followed across repeated cycles.
Employer-Level refunds
Where the entire payment is refunded rather than an individual contribution, the Lodgement status shows SuperStream Full Refund. These refunds carry no member details and are not handled by the Super Refund Action process. They are resubmitted as a whole Lodgement from the Superannuation Lodgement Manager.
